Cookie Policy

Last updated: January 2025

The short version: We use cookies to keep you logged in and understand how people use Vast. We don't use cookies for advertising.

What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit.

The cookies we use

Authentication cookies

When you sign in via GitHub OAuth, we set a session cookie that keeps you logged in across visits. This cookie expires when you sign out or after 30 days of inactivity. Without this cookie, the Service cannot function.

Preference cookies

We store UI preferences - such as sidebar state and graph layout settings - in your browser's local storage. These are not transmitted to our servers and you can clear them at any time through your browser settings.

Analytics cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics on our production deployment to understand how people use Vast: which pages are visited and how navigation flows. Data is aggregated and first-party. We do not use Google Analytics or ad-network trackers.

What we don't use cookies for

We do not use cookies for advertising. We do not place third-party tracking cookies. We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers or data brokers.

Managing cookies

You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that clearing authentication cookies will sign you out of Vast.
